The ’22 Pizza Expo

The US Pizza Team began it’s year with a bang at the biggest pizza show in the USA, the Pizza Expo in Las Vegas. Host to the International Pizza Challenge and the World Pizza Games, USPT members old and new represented the team in numerous categories across the entire competition.
USPT Premiere member Sean Dempsey of Demspey’s Brewery Pub and Restaurant in Watertown, S.D. took 2nd place overall in the Traditional category, beating out droves of competitors for the glory.
One of the teams newest and youngest members, Vittoria Trupiano of Mangia E Bevi in Oceanside, Cal. stole the show with her pan pizza. Ancient Roman style dough, chamomile and lavender infused mascarpone, braised lemons in cumin, coriander, and black pepper corns, smoked Atlantic salmon, fried capers, anise infused ricotta cream, lemon zest, caviar, and bulls blood micro greens. Also earning the Galbani Professionale Pro Team Division award for their categories was Vittoria Trupiano and Leah Scurto of PIZZALEAH in Windsor, Ca.
