Competitions

     

Mellow Mushroom Pizza Bakers, Downtown Chattanooga, TN location will be hosting their inaugural National Pizza Trials Thursday, December 11th, 2014.

The events included will be Traditional Pizza Competition, fastest dough stretch, largest dough stretch, and box folding. First place in each event will earn you a spot on the United States Pizza Team. The grand prize for first place winner from the traditional competition will be a trip to travel with the team to compete in the World Pizza Championships in Parma, Italy in May of 2015.

Entrance fee for traditional will be $125. For largest, fastest, box folding will $50 each, $125 for all three.

Traditional basic rules: – Each competitor will be expected to make 3, 12-14 inch pizzas, choosing one to personally present and describe to the judges, the other two going to spectators. – You will have a total of 20 min to bake three pies, present and clean up the cooking area. – Prep areas will be available for up to three competitors at a time, we advise you to use this area to get pies as close to baking ready as possible to help speed things along. – There are NO sauce/ingredient restrictions. – Walk- in space will be available. – Blodgett   series stacked deck ovens.
