December 7th:

Non-Traditional Category $125
(Limit 8 competitors, one competitor per pizzeria)

  • Each competitor will make 2 12-14” gourmet pizzas.
  • Choose one to present to the judges and one to contestants.

 

December 8th

Traditional Category $125
(Limit 8 competitors, one competitor per pizzeria)

  • Must use only 2 of the following Pepperoni, Sausage, Bacon, Onion, Mushroom or Peppers. (Only two ingredients will be allowed. Ex. If you use two types of sausage that will be the only ingredients you can have.)
  • You will be allowed two cheeses
  • No base/sauce restrictions
  • Allowed 2 of the following for final presentation, Basil, Shaved/Grated Parmesan, Balsamic Glaze, Cilantro, Chives/Green onion
  • One competitor per Pizzeria
  • Each competitor will make 2 12-14” pizzas
  • Choose one to present to the judges and one to contestants

 

December 7th and 8th
Acrobatics 

         – Box Folding  ($25)

            – Largest, Fastest, Freestyle Acrobatics ($50 each or $125 for all 3, fastest, largest, Freestyle acrobatics)

Basic Rules

 Culinary

Winner of each day will have a cook off on day 2 to determine Grand Prize winner that will join the Groupon U.S. Pizza Team at the World Pizza Championships in Parma, Italy, April of 2016.

Day 1 and 2

  • Each competitor will be allowed one assistant to help clean prep and cooking area. This person may not assist in prep work or cooking/building of the pizza.
  • Each competitor will have up to 40 min of prep time, in which all prep must be done and pies are ready to be cooked.
  • Competitor will then have 20 minutes to bake finalize and present their pizza.
  • Dough must be made before arrival.
  • Walk in cooler space will be provided but limited so please keep that in mind.
  • You will need to bring any specialized tools to create your pie (i.e., screens, pizza pans, good knives, pans for sauteeing, blenders). Ovens and peels will be provided

Day 2 Bakeoff

  • 5 ingredients, 3 cheeses, and one mystery box ingredient. (Ingredients chosen and provided by Mellow Mushroom)
  • You may choose as many of the 5 ingredients as you wish as well as any of the cheese provided, you MUST use the mystery ingredient.
  • The competitor will supply a dough of their choosing and a sauce base red or white, we suggest preparing for both sauce possibillities.

Acrobatics

Fastest

  • You will have 5 dough balls that you will stretch to cover a 12” screen completely with no holes as fast as possible.

Largest

  • You will have 5 minutes to stretch dough as large as you can with no holes larger than a dime.

Freestyle Acrobatics

  • You will have 3 min to complete your routine.
  • Competitor must supply their own music for the competition.

Fastest Box Folding

  • Fold 5 14” boxes as fast as you can.
